Davis comes out looking to land some big punches but Fabiano immediately drops under them and gets a body lock. Davis defends well at first but eventually succumbs to a leg trip takedown. Fabiano passes his guard and moves to side mount, then full mount. Davis escapes during an armbar attempt and gets back to his feet, though is soon put down again.

Fabiano again moves to full mount and this time locks on an armbar that Davis cannot escape. He's forced to tap near the end of the first round, as Fabiano's submission skills continue to give opponents fits.

Wagnney Fabiano defeats L.C. Davis via submission (armbar) at 3:38 of round one. Fabiano is the IFL's featherweight champion.

LC should have stalled if there was only 30 seconds left, or if he really wanted to escape, he should have bridged and shrimped out. He made the mistake of turning away from him and leaving his arm out.
