What about the waterfowl that use the airspace to go south? I dont want to see thousands of dead ducks and geese from the windmills in my fields or the lakes! You say and i quote,"I guess the middle and poor class can contiue to pay for cheap coal with their health care" I am sorry I am a poor blue collar guy who tries to feed my family, I wish I had the funding from the Sierra club to support me and my cause but I dont. I dont support public health care. I pay for my own with Blue Cross

I have friends in Elkton and Pigeon by the windmills. Have you been up there and experienced all the vibration caused by the windmills or the noise? The Scandia Corp wants to put all these windmills in Lake MI. What will the vibrations do to our fishery? The fish like Pike, Musky,Steelhead and Salmon who rely on detecting vibrations cause by there food. They use these to find there food!

But why would I want to look at thousands of windmills? When I look to my east at 6 a.m and the Sun is rising over my Farm or if I look to the west and watch the sun set behind the trees in my woods I dont want to see windmills! Now you are entitled to your opinions and I will respect yours, these ar mine. I am all for green energy but I dont believe we can do green energy without coal

Yeah it will be 5 years till they try and build it, if they can. Meanwhile, all of the wind and solar manufacturing jobs are going overseas. In detroit, we not only built the cars, we used them. building a coal plant is like building a giant 12 story horse barn on the day Henry Ford started manufacturing the Model T. Consumers is asking you to invest in an Edsel (dirty coal plant) while the rest of the world is gearing up to manufacture wind and solar. Something we should be doing n Michigan

Gave up the toaster, what you have a four slicer with a bagle accessory?
Let me ask you. You dont want the plant due to it being dirty yet with you fighting this state of the art plant, you let older less efficient plants still run, making more pollution. And how long before wind and solar are affordable for the middle and poor class?

Look up "wind in a bottle" in Iowa, there is a 238 MW underground compressed air facility that stores energy, Wind, Solar, Gas, whatever the source. Compressed Air has been used to store energy in many ways. I am sure you can think of a few yourself. I guess the middle and poor class can contiue to pay for cheap coal with their health care dollars.

My question for you is what are you going to do if it is calm wind and cloudy with rain? You need coal plants do be able to produce enough power for this state. Solar is to expensive as well as wind. you would have thousands of windmills in the air to do what the new plant can do. Look at all the jobs and money that this will produce in tax dollars for one of the poorest areas in the country.

Thousands of Jobs will be created in putting up the thousands of windmills you refer to. Whats not to understand. Those windturbines have the added benefit of revitalizing the manufacturing sector of our economy.

Why dont you guys go after Dow Chemical Company in Midland too. They pollute the Titibawassee river and Saginaw River with Dioxin and also produce as much air pollutants as the plants, go after them!!

We are on their case. You probably have not noticed some similar names fighting both of these environmental disasters. The difference is that we cas stop Consumers from screwing up MI.
