Another rarely seen cut from the Duke Tour, performed at the Lyceum Theatre in London in 1980. The Lady Lies is from "And Then There Were Three" released in 1978. I usually stay within the parameters of the Steve Hackett/Peter Gabriel era but the 1980 Lyceum Show is on Six Hours Live 2-DVD set because it is the only concert remotely close to the 1970s that is recorded for video in it's entirety. It's also one of the last tours that they performed many of their songs from the 70s in there entirety..before they were reduced to medleys.

Don't forget to find a record store near you and buy these CDs from my favorite Genesis era:

Trespass - 1970
Nursery Cryme - 1971
Foxtrot - 1972
Selling England By The Pound - 1973
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - 1974
A Trick Of The Tail - 1976
Wind & Wuthering - 1977

  • I wondered where Stagnation had gone! Thanks TommyG

  • Hey old friend!

I removed in fear of getting my account suspended. I will get it back up soon on my Dailymotion account - same username Tommygun1028

  • They also removed that audio from my posting of a Genesis cover band version on I Know What I Like from 1979!!! EMI has the rights to the song

  • well that's good that they have the rights, now all they have to do is remove the audio of all these songs from 35 years ago so everyone can forget about them for good. It's 2009, not 1979. It would probably be wise to let these songs be remembered and even gain new fans. Times have changed, what made sense 35 years ago may not make the best sense now, whether you own any rights or not.

  • There would be no Genesis..!

  • I'm really starting to hate YouTube these days - taking away great rock songs from videos. How many times do we have to say WE DON'T OWN THESE TRACKS!?! I'd be willing to bet that the artists understand and are just as upset about the situation. I can see it now: Tony Banks sits down at his computer, wants to watch a video, and says "Ooh here's some concert footage of Genesis. I haven't seen this for 30 years." And then "Hey, where's our song!?" It's truly a shame that this has happened.

  • Can anyone tell what piano piece is this? Thanks

  • saw the whole set on sunday.

what an amazing bundle of joy it was.

  • Unfortunately folks, with YouTube downloaders and the such, people are stealing these videos. YouTube is an almost entirely different site than it was 2006 or 2007. The array of music available back then was amazing. Now rules and regulations from music groups made the change. Someone was right when they said, "...taking away from the newer generation..." Yes, my kids got many videos of my beloved rock and roll from YouTube and are fans because of it. And they buy the CDs. Missed opportunities.

  • Really. What is the point of blocking these videos? I do drum covers of all these old bands. It's not like someone's going to download (steal) their version with my drums splattered all over it. We make no money, and only offer broader exposure to younger generations, who may actually purchase the material legitimately and increase WMG sales. If anything, WE should be paid for the free publicity! But I'll settle for a policy of non-harassment instead. They block. I dispute. They allow (for now)

  • god

  • @dcmcdon27b What the hell this music, I know it certainly ain't The Lady...
