President Barack Obama said the United States, China and several other countries reached an "unprecedented breakthrough" to curb greenhouse gas emissions after a frenzied day of diplomacy at the U.N. climate talks. (Dec. 18)

Socialism is just a school of thought on how a country could run it's economics. Hitler was a capitalist but that doesn't invalidate the Wealth of Nations. Mao and Hitler were both authoritarian rulers and it was the authoritarianism that was the problem.

I agree with you that an open market is needed and that strict socialism is a poor means or organizing a countries economics.
