Une Chambre en ville (1982). Madame Langlois, a baroness who, because of debts incurred by her late sun, has come down in the world and has to let out a room in her house to a metal worker. When he goes on strike, she expresses her disapproval, even more so when he begins an affair with her daughter. She gradually warms to him and, having had too much to drink, suggests that they have something in common: they both hate the bourgeoisie and have to struggle to survive. Some commentators think that the baroness's words are Demy's own political testimony
