The Hurricanes are good primarily because of the salary cap. The Carolinas do less of a hockey culture than Canada has of a basketball culture.
But I agree with you that the Jets should go back to Winnipeg. They deserve better than just an AHL team.

I love my Anaheim Ducks, I can't IMAGINE them moving...
I feel for Winnipeg--An aheim packs the arena, the players are good, playoffs Finals, a Cup...players like Kariaya and Selanne and Giguere and Perry and Getzlaf and Hiller...we have a real hockey culture.

WINNIPEG : YES!
QUEBEC: YES!
Bring Back those Jets! Nords too! Phoenix is failing, Chipman has the offer and arena...bring 'em back!

@riderfan47 umm the whalers situation is worse, i mean they were always shitty and the canes are much better than the whalers ever were while the coyotes are worse than the jets ever were, like i said, the people of winnipeg did not want it, it was that asshole bettmans doing

trust me winnipeg can suport an nhl franchise for instance the canucks play at gm place wich holds 18630 seats but before gm place the played at the pacific colaseaum wich omly holds 16300 it is smaller than the mts centre and the cancucks have never had any money problems even when tey were at the pacific colaseam and the canucks have had a sellout game every game for the last 2 or 3 seasons and if team can do it so can another

The Avco World Trophy was the championship trophy of the original World Hockey Association (1972-1979). The trophy's naming rights were sold to the former Avco Corporation (a name originally derived from "Aviation Company"), a defence contractor who bought the rights to advertise their consumer finance division.
