This video clip is of the impromptu combined drill team maneuvers done at the Texas State 4-H Horse Show in Abilene, Texas on July 27, 2009. The coaches of several teams got together and combined the riders into "One Big Team". The team was composed of riders from Lee, Liberty and Matagorda counties and I was told there were 58 riders. They completed a pinwheel, a wagon wheel and a corkscrew manuever. The kids had a blast while learning some important life lessons. Thanks to the coaches. This is Part 2 of the video I took. Pardon the shaky zoomed scenes as I did not have my tripod along at the time and was just happy that I had my video camera!
I wish I lived in Texas, it looks so great! :) I think the camera was fine; if it was me holding it I'd make all the people watching seasick!
I'm from the UK so I'm pretty much dumb as an alien about these drill teams; I got a brief explanation from a kind friend but I'd love to learn more about what happens in them and why they are done! :)
