She was called Tina because, to the Japanese, Tina was this WHOA WEIRD COOL ENGLISH NAME.
Do you have any idea how much it irritates me that they call a completely unrelated character 'Terra' in a recent Kingdom Hearts game?
Also, this keeps getting stuck in my head. I'd like to think that Yoshitaka Amano has heard this before, and if he hasn't, I'm surprised.

A Japanese Man Singing like a woman AND in english......EPIC WIN

It was beautiful! ;_____;

@Massacretalitor Damn straight! We need more unusual names, like Cecil, or maybe even Rosa.
-
@SrLeonheart all from his voice :)

I always thought Celes and Terra together made a good contrast in names, but Tina is also a great name. :)

I have a question:
I know it's a remix, but...
Where did you get the song in order to do it?
By the way, I like the song!

@Massacretalitor Terra is a better name period. If I ever have a daughter, I decided a long time ago I would name her Terra. Tina, on the other hand, is my step-mother's name. I don't like that name.

I know that localization often affects opinions, but in my opinion, Terra is much better name for her. Tina is simply something too casual for FF character.

love it. Also ran across the "Crow's Claw" version. like that one too. No English website to download/purchase albums though... ;_;
"Terra" is her localized name, originally its "Tina".

Tina is just a common name with no real signification for the japanese but the guy that did the english traduction of the game called her Terra wich have much more meanings such as earth in latin and monster in greek. I find that interesting considering her ability to morph into an esper that make her look like a creature. this game is awesome no mater tha language anyway!
