Silvette LS1 S14 - First Start

After about 2 years I finally got my LS1 powered S14 started and took it for a short drive around the block. It still needs an exhaust and the brake fluid has been drained due to a leak but everything seems to run great.

If you had all the necessary parts at hand and knew what you were doing you could get it done in a long weekend, I didn't have either of those luxuries so I chipped away at it over the course of 2 years.

@twistedsymphony did you use a swap kit and how much will this swap cost me for engine and everything except the car i looked into sikky . com and they have a swap kit and headers for a decent price i think if you know any one cheaper let me know but nice swap

@feanforbeans I used a kit, but it was not a good kit as I ended up modifying nearly every part of it to make it work. The sikky kit is good, as is the Fueled Racing kit. As for the price. I spent $8K all said and done but it can be done much cheaper, or much more expensive depending on a lot of different factors. I recommend checking out silviav8.com if you're really interested.

@twistedsymphony ill check them out cause im intrested ,,, so $8k with car included or just engine and parts.... and how does it drive cause i know the ls1 weighs a little less than a KA24de and hows the power,handling etc.

@feanforbeans that does not include the car, I started with a bone stock automatic. Also LS1 weighs about 110lbs MORE than a KA24, but the weight sits further back and the car is actual more balanced as a result.
