Golden Country by REO Speedwagon

Probably my favorite REO Speedwagon song. Written by Gary Richrath, who in my opinion wrote much better songs than Kevin Cronin. From their 1972 album R.E.O./T.W.O. Wicked Solo, I give it a 9.7/10

Great song from REO in 1972. The song is a Protest song and anti-war comment, esample: Black Sabbath "War Pigs."

I don't hear any Zep in this, but I do wonder if Styx' Suite Madame Blue was a bit of a knockoff of this tune, a few years later.

All throughout the solo I kept wanting to shout "And as we wind on down the road!!!"...and this album was released only a year after IV? Coincidence? I think not. While Gary is anything but original, this just crosses the line into absurdity.
