erm... these parts of the world have never had any poverty mate... even before the oil industry.

most of the eastern part of the world was very wealthy..africa was probably the wealthiest.. but the u.s and uk went over and stole it all didnt they.. so erm... u know.

besides their economy is on another level entirely.. its not just oil.. its real estate, scientific research etc etc

It's funny reading all the post's about 'obscene wealth' written by people who spend $2000 / EU1500 / £1000 + on a computer just so they can sit on their fat arses watching stupid / weird videos about people who waste money on frivolous toys. I suggest if you don't like seeing money being wasted in this way you should turn off the computer & play on your $500/ EU 350 / £250 X boxes instead or maybe chill with your Ipods or turn on the plasma TV & watch cable / SKY instead.
