I spoke too soon. This didn't work for me. made a bunch of choppy noise. hmmmm...how did you determine the bitrate and channel inputs? any idea what my problem could be here?

@teiaperigosa 128 is just a very common bitrate, not too big, not too small. Channel is always 2 for stereo output. Im not sure what the problem could be. Always make sure you are using the latest version of VLC

worked just fine ;-) you can also use jdownloader, it's free and if it's open it always keeps an eye on your cache. so if you copy a youtube link it gives you all the options like flv, mp4, mp3

I try it, i downloand a video y lisent to it, it was fine, I do exactly the same that you do and when I open the mp3 I've just made it just long 1minute, I don't know what hapend, I try it 3 times it's always the same

well , everything was right... but when i took the music to itunes it was only about 2 seconds.
