@snaps81625 Yes it is a way of life. My mother was born in the great depression and she's been buying things on sale and putting them away for as long as I can remember. She also uses the food on a regular basis, but at any given time I think she has enough food to last for several months if not longer. It's how she's lived all her life. I know that many of her generation do the same thing, and I think we could do well to follow their example.

@therealvirginiawind From a small child I have heard about foodstorage, being LDS I was taught at a young age about being prepared.. as a young woman I became interested in the things our ancestors did to survive.. I learned many things and I am very well prepared, but every motn I just add more.. every month.. its a way of life. God Bless!

@snaps81625 Prepping is a term that brings us together, but I'd like to see folks moving more towards doing this kind of thing as a lifestyle. It's cheaper, and more healthy than buying boxed foods.

@therealvirginiawind Well keep prepping, don't stop.. we're all going to need it! God Bless!

@Thesmalltowngardener Love my hats, and especially this one. There's actually an entire book written on these. I had it once, but gave it away. The origin of them has something to do with providing a helmet for woodsmen.

@bowlmeoverva There's room for tweaking on the carrots onions and celery mix, but starting with that idea you really can't go wrong.
