Using a $65 bilge pump and a simple battery, we'll have the luxury of a fully operational shower during the hot hot days on the playa. All the more excuse to get extra dirty out there ;-)

  • Is it actually allowed there? I mean what is with soap, shampoo and so on?

  • @klramon We laid down a rectangle frame of 2x4's (about 6' x 10'), and then a sheet of visqueen to collect the runoff. Place a shipping crate on top of the visqueen, and your shower tent on top of that. All soap, water, runoff, etc. will pool up in the visqueen. As long as you ration your water and don't flood the catch-pool, it should evaporate. At the end of the week, you can fold up the visqueen and toss it in the trash - it WILL be kind of nasty and sticky from soap & shampoo residue.

  • @joliver446 nasty and sticky but better than to be covert with salt, sand and swaet for a week. :)

  • aww sum!

  • What kind of shower head is that? Im going this year and need one that is easy to use and that one definately seems easy.

  • Id use it

  • What kind of pump were you using? How did it work out on the playa? Thanks for posting this! Great tip for next year.

  • that is awesome! i gotta have somethin like that when we go to the playa next year

  • I know this video sounds really funny- but out on the playa the dust is so bad and it gets into everything so Playa Showers and theories on same are highly tradeable. I hear people who have dust on them will pay any amount of money for showers - but at Burning Man you can charge..So what can you do
