Focusing on the language as the way into Shakespeare's magical world, these workshops bring Shakespeare's characters to life on stage. The film explores the secrets Barton and Hall have discovered over the course of their extraordinary directing careers - about the way Shakespeare writes and the way actors can find clues in the text that reveal hidden treasures. Barton has been acclaimed as "the Shakespeare swami" by three generations of great RSC actors, from Peter O'Toole to Ian McKellen and Judy Dench to Harriet Walter (who appears in the film). The Sessions includes some of Shakespeare's most famous scenes in remarkable new interpretations by an extraordinary all-star cast.

I really like this clip. Hard to say why, except maybe that I've never really watched any rehearsing, and didn't have a sense of what directors might say or how actors might respond. It's way cool how differently Cynthia Nixon plays Viola the second time through.
