Because college classes can be so stupid, I didn't learn what morality was in my Business Ethics class. Therefore, I must figure it out for myself.

I personally take the Bible to be my code of ethics. However, I'm at the stage now that I am able to analyze what the Bible says and come up with my own opinions about it. No longer am I relegated to the unlearned masses who simply take what they are told and regurgitate it at a later date.

I think that it is important for all of us to understand morality and religion, and what we, personally, believe about each. In my opinion, there are two fundamental laws about which all people of all religions can agree.

1. Do all you have agreed to do (i.e. keep your promises).
2. Do not encroach on others or their property (i.e. don't steal, kill, cheat, murder, etc.)

These laws were articulated by Richard Maybury in Whatever Happened to Penny Candy? This book is one of the best economics books ever written.

  • @wacastervids veggietales? XD i remember watching that when i was younger.

  • @vampiress49 Yeah, it is one of my all time favorites.

  • @wacastervids direct? behavior? hmm... I guess i direct my behavior on what i got off tv. thats mainly where i got pretty much everything i know now. tv is where i learned right from wrong, good from bad. not even school, church, or even my parents really did anything to teach me that., considering school is actually where your supposed to learn. its just something i picked up from tv. (tv is where i learned everything. basically, if school/parents/church didnt teach me something, tv did.)

  • @vampiress49 Wow, that was very different than my experience! I watched a very limited amount of television when I was young. The only time I watched a lot was during long car rides, and those shows were very carefully picked (like VeggieTales, for example).

  • @wacastervids They're really good. One of my favorite bands. I am a musician. I play drums, guitar, and I sing. I've also been messing around with synths, and keyboards too. I currently write my own music for the fun of it, but I wouldn't mind making it my source of income some day.

  • @xLG7526x Interesting, thanks for the input! You and Bo are both right, I need to make sure my work is "my own," not someone else's remixed! I just checked out Tegan and Sara, their music is quite good! Are you a musician?

  • @mourning2dancing True, but how do you know how to follow the way of Jesus? By following what he said. It's not a moral code, exactly, but it's an ethical mindset.

  • @mordeathmark Be as honest as you're willing to be? Sounds a bit ambiguous.
