Perhaps my favourite Sobinov side, sung with the utmost liquidity and fervour, a seemingly impossible combination. Antonina Vasilievna, as usual, the no-nonsense prima-donna: one wishes she would join Leonid Vitalyevich in dreaming a little bit more. But when those two voices join, the sun rises: WHAT singing!

@AulicExclusiva Yes, indeed. I absolutely agree with you. What singing, indeed! Thank you for a typically insightful and spot-on comment.

A truly magical performance from this dynamic duo, just as their memorable collaboration in Lohengrin. Many thanks indeed for bringing this wonderful gem back, Edmund. Looking forward also to the Mignon aria.

@dantitustimshu Thank you very much Tim. Yes, the Polonaise goes back up today. I think I've about corrected my annoying mini-disaster now. I just discovered, the hard way, that the little "delete" check-box at the very top of the "my videos" page will actually take out the entire page. We live, we learn......sometimes:) About a half dozen piano videos and I'm back in business:) Have a good weekend, Edmund
