its completely dependable on what you need for example if it is purely for road race bike and will only be used for training and racing then get some cheap Look Keo Classic Pedals. which will come with a three bolt cleat which you will need to bolt to the bottom of a cheap shoe that has a three bolt option. or if you have a lot of money you could get some spd pedal for around £26 which is double sided so will be easer to use initialy to get used to being locked into the bike and get a shoe....

Do you have to purchase the shoes and pedals separately? I am pretty sure the answer is yes but just want to make sure. What is a good brand for beginner road cyclist?
