The object of this game is to break into Hyrule Castle to rescue & free Princess Zelda and thereafter to find the elder, Sahasrahla, and collect all 3 Pendants of Virtue in order to be able to obtain the Master Sword. As the Master Sword is obtained, Princess Zelda is kidnapped by the Wizard, Agahnim, and the Loyal Sage at the Sanctuary is mortally wounded. Link must then continue to Hyrule Castle to battle Agahnim where he is cast into the Dark World after victory. In the Dark World, Link must collect all 7 crystals in which the maidens and Princess Zelda (all descendents of the 7 wise men) are trapped in and use their powers to break the seal around Ganon's Tower and battle Agahnim for the 2nd time. Once Agahnim is destroyed, Ganon is unleashed from his body and the final battle takes place in the Pyramid.

Here is part 1 of my walkthrough of The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past.

It goes from the start of the game at Link's (and his uncle's) House to point where Link exits the B2 level of Hyrule Castle.

Areas explored in this video:

-Light World: The area surrounding Link's House & Hyrule Castle and Hyrule Castle (the B1, 1F, and B2 levels).

What you'll find in this video:

-The location of the Lamp.
-Various game instructions given by the soldiers before they lose their minds.
-The secret entrance to Hyrule Castle through the well in the garden.
-Link getting the Level-1 sword & Level-1 shield from his uncle.
-Locations of Dungeon Items such as the Map, regular keys, treasure chests, and other power-up items & rubies hidden in treasure chests and pots.
-The location of the Boomerang.

  • i really can't explain how many memories are coming back to me watching this! Zelda forever! <3

  • @Earthboundfan527

Same with the skull in the Dark World, which do even more damage. Those must be the skulls of Chuck Norris clones.

  • @rike1p Me freaking too buddy!!!!! :)

  • if i had a £ for every memory that came back watching this, i'd have 500k <3 miss this game, glad i got the emulator to play it on :)

  • @MrPotatoSack177

Despite the redundancy of having to rewind time multiple times to finish temples, I began really getting into it during the Snow & Ocean Temples, but then I reached the Stone Tower & the emulator I played it on crashed & I didn't feel like climbing that tower again (too tedious). Also, another problem I had was that some of those mini-games you had to play to get 100% of the items were too impossible/annoying and there were way too many of them.

  • @wtcvidman I know Majora's Mask tested my patience as well

  • @MrPotatoSack177

I didn't know that. I have that game unopened too.

I beat but don't have Ocarina of Time since I don't have a Nintendo 64. I played but lost my patience with Majora's Mask before I could finish it. I don't have a Gamecube or any of the Zelda games for it and also don't have the Minish Cap for the GBA.

  • @wtcvidman Here's an interresting fact did you know the Phantom Hourglass end credits theme is actually the ALTTP end credits theme

  • @wtcvidman Well if you ever have the chance to play Spirit Tracks go to a place where there is a lot of staircases like Hyrule Castle for example. The same staircaes appear in Phantom Hourglass as well but only in dungeons.

  • @MrPotatoSack177

No harm done. In general, the term reference is used when any newer work does something to refer to an older/pre-existing work, so it could apply to movies, books, games, TV shows, or anything else.

I'm glad you told me about it because I didn't know Spirit Tracks brought that feature back. I have the game but haven't had a chance to open it yet. So many unopened Zelda games & don't know which one to open & play next.

  • @rike1p Yeah long live Zeruda No Densetsu

  • @wtcvidman Oh sorry my bad
