مارك بالهدية يرقص أندلسي إلا أغنيه "زارني المحبوب" مع عبدالله موسى .(٢٠١١)

Mark Balahadia performing Arab-Andalusian style to the muwasha7, Zarani L-Ma7boub with Abdullah Mousa and Ramzi El-Edlibi's band.

In this clip, Mark is recreating the dance of Islamic Iberia, circa 711 to 1492. With the help of Ramzi El-Edlibi and from research on music/dance of that period, Mark developed his interpretation of this classical form.

Mark was especially inspired by Ziryab, a Persian court musician who fled Abbasid Baghdad and settled in Al-Andalus (modern day Spain/Portugal) under the sponsorship of the Umayyad Caliphate in Cordoba. With him, he brought influences from the Persianized court music of Baghdad

As a result, Mark borrowed elements Persian Classical dance, Central Asian and Indian dances including deep backbends, finger snaps and barrel turns.
