Here is a video that shows how I smooth my FDM printed parts. Since they are ABS plastic I can simply use a special type of solvent called "Plastruct Bondene Styrene & ABS plastic solvent cement"

After I am done I simply place the exacto in a cup and let the part dry out for 10-20 min before removing from the tip of the blade (BE GENTLE! THE PART IS STILL SOFT!)

  • will this help make the printed material stronger or reinforced?

  • oh wow i thought that would be a lot more expensive well thanks anyway ill search it on google sometime and if i forget what its called ill pm you ok?

  • ok cool, is it pretty expensive?

  • oh really, where do you get the materials for this and instructions and stuff?

  • just wondering, is it 100% neccessary to do this for printed masters?

  • Hahahaha I heard Bear Gryllz when he bit off that animals head

  • but it is o so fun and rewarding :D

  • So the ABS solvent doesn't harm the exacto knife at all?

    Just wondering.

  • Ever considered coming up with puzzle ideas for a videogame?
