@mashmusic11235 Not true at all. There are literally dozens of places online where you can get ribbons, and I get mine for $5.00 each. Hell, I know people who order them by the dozen!

My dad threw mine out, too!
But nao i have 7. :/

Because it's not 'junk,' it's history!

Yeah. I have a Smith-Corona Sterling (medium grade, better than Standard, not as good as Silent) typewriter from (I think) the 50s. I picked it up at a flea market for $20. Almost every thirft store I've seen has typewriters, but mostly the electric ones. Go to a flea market for vintage ones. Make sure that the typewriter you buy has a ribbon. They are easy to reink, but very, very hard to find on their own.

Well, I wish I was so fortunate. I would love to have a typewriter, since my dad threw out mine in a very douchebag move.
Anyone know a place that sells cheap vintage typewriters?

You should have left it in the JUNK pile. Obviously you have a computer so why do you want the shit from the junk pile? Eight track needs a new belt? It's not like you can go to Wal-Mart and pick one up, right?

The ABCDEFG is used for typing multiple copies using carbon paper. The thicker the carbon pack the farther you move the lever. This is Royal's version of the IBM Correcting Selectric II.
I see yours has the type-ball. I only have one machine with a typeball, a 1977 Olivetti, but I have many other typewriters! (sometime I'll get around to doing videos of them.) I'm glad that you saved it from the junk pile!

Sorry to say but it later was returned as junk, as something messed up and it would not type right.
