What you will do is to sew the shamrock to the granny square. I do have a video tutorial showing how to sew flowers to hats. I will send you the link

This is great! I refer to it as double crochet, why do some call it a half double crochet? Looks like you're using a 9 or 10 (J or K) hook? You could make cute ones with smaller hooks of course, I'm going to try one now! I'm sending you a video of the bag I made from plastic grocery bags! Thanks so much for posting this. 5*****

The half-double crochet is similar to the double crochet. I was using a size I crochet hook. I do have another shamrock variation posted. I did a video with all my hats to.
