Thanks for this quick and helpful tutorial! Those commercial 3D scanning systems can get pretty expensive (nearly $3,000), so a quick (and inexpensive) solution like this should be great. What I'm wondering though, since you need to print out those calibration sheets for the David 3D software, is there any way of scanning larger objects that wouldn't fit in the area of the printed sheets? Like a head, or say, even an entire body?

Do a video about how to appear on youtube using other ppl software. Anyone can read a manual or use google.

a little rough?
I assume that a better camera and a better laser would probably make better quality models or is this method simply produces crappy models?

just for help purposes: Its best to do the actual scanning in the dark so that the camera can see the laser line much better. At least it worked better for me.
