On June 25, 2009, Jackson collapsed at a rented home in Holmby Hills in Los Angeles. Attempts at resuscitating him by his personal physician weren't successful.[151] Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics received a 911 call at 12:21 pm (PDT),[152] and arrived nine minutes later at Jackson's location. He was reportedly not breathing and CPR was performed.[153] Resuscitation efforts continued both en route to the UCLA Medical Center, and for an hour further after arriving at approximately 1:14 pm (20:14 UTC).[151] He was noted to have already been in cardiac arrest by the paramedics who attended his house.[153] Jackson was pronounced dead at about 2:26 pm local time (21:26 UTC).[154] The cause of death is currently believed to be cardiac arrest.


The case was transferred to the Los Angeles coroner for investigation.[151] Jackson's body was transported by helicopter from UCLA to the LA Coroners offices in Boyle Heights.[155][156] The autopsy was scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2009.[154]

Jackson's death caused a largescale outpouring of grief among fans, as they gathered outside the UCLA Medical Center and his Holmby Hills home.[157] Fans also gathered in New York City outside the Apollo Theater[158] and in Detroit outside Hitsville U.S.A., the old Motown headquarters now the Motown Museum, where fans created a shrine.[159]

News of Jackson's death spread quickly online, causing many websites to experience technical difficulties under the unanticipated swell of users. Google announced technical difficulties after a sudden swell in searches for "Michael Jackson" led the company to believe it was under attack from hackers, while social networking site Twitter reported a crash after record numbers of users used the site to spread the news of Jackson's death.[160]

In the hours following Jackson's death, his record sales increased dramatically. His seminal album Thriller climbed to number one on the American iTunes music chart, while another eight have made it into the top 40.[161] In the UK, where Jackson would have performed less than three weeks after his death, fifteen of his albums occupied the top 15 spots on the Amazon music chart.[162]

all of that plastic surgery stuff was nonsense in an interview with oprah winfrey he goes that he only every had two plastic surgeries and it is in his book moonwalker and i want it but havent got enough money and the nose surgery he did have the surgeon messed it up and goes to the press that he had round about 10 nose surgeries to make sure he still had a business in the plastic surgery industry. i mean come on 10 nose surgeries! cum on!
