A whole bunch of these Katzenjammer Kids cartoons (37 in total, I think) were made by William Randolph Hearst's International Film Service studio between 1916 and 1918. Then an additional 5 cartoons were produced in 1920 under the title The Shenanigan Kids (the current title of the Katzies strip). This is the only one I've ever seen of them, though. So my big question here is: Does anyone have prints of other cartoons in this series besides "Policy and Pie"? I would LOVE to see more of these!

This cartoon is titled The Original Katzenjammer Kids because at that time wanted to take the Katzies from William Randolph Hearst's Journal(Now King Features) To Joseph Pulitzers World(Now United Features) Affter a court decision Dirks went to Pulitzers Paper and had the right to draw the characters under a different title which was called The Captain and the Kids. Hearst then Had the Katzenjammer Kids drawn by H.H. Knerr.

My god! This is a piece of history,
The original Rudolph Dirks strip The Katzenjammer Kids first came out in 1897, I forget how many animated tie ins there were with early Platinium age comic strips, I think Winsor McKay did some with Gertie The Dinosaur plus Little Nemo In Slumberland,
But this 1918 toon would have to be one of the earliest as well, Thank you so much for this.
