Such great talent almost always goes completely ignored by the polluted musical mainstream public. You can't force feed a musically handicapped public music of this quality...they prefer to eat the musical equivlent of unhealthy fast food!
So sad indeed!!!

I drove to Chicago to see Joe Henry. AMAZING!! Afterwards I wanted his autograph, so I waited a little while, then knocked lightly on tour bus. He opened the door & I asked for it nervously. He invited me in and found a pen. His wife, (Madooa's sister) was playing solitare. He was impressed that I drove from missouri to Chicago to see him. WOW!!! He said he wasn't suitable for mass consumpton. . . Humble, very kind, & personable musican I have ever met. He is AMAZING....

he really strikes me as that kind of an artist. I've always loved his music, I accidentally got to see him in Atlanta, I had no idea he was opening for David Byrne. What a great surprise. I had the pleasure of meeting Grant Lee Phillips much the same way you described your meeting with Joe. Also a very humble artist!

If he is happy, it matters not....he just becomes a more rare gem for those of us in the know....

Tell him there's a disabled guy his age in Lawrence, KS that has bought his records since first hearing "Murder of Crows", that believes that He, along with Tom Waits and Elvis Costello are our greatest living popular songwriters....and mostly...could he please do a show in KC or Lawrence? I don't want to die without experiencing his songs live...You have much to be proud of. A humble man, who easily could have used his sister in law's name to go real big.

Luckyyyyyy...Ive so hoped for him to come to KC or Lawrence for a long time...Im disabled, so I can't get to Chicago and such quite so easily. I figured he was very real, and your wonderful story doesn't surprise me a bit. He is well more than suitable for everyone, but truth be told, as long as he is making enough money...I kinda like having these gems as little secrets you can share, when u know a person will truly get it, but I live for subtlety and obscurity.

im a mainstream listener and i like dubstep and metal, but i freakin love this song. i can play it on guitar, and i dont like the prejudice that people like me dont like acoustic stuff. stereotype guys... think about it...

Great song -lucky to see him in the Spiegel Tent in Sydney a few years back and have a chat after the show - very personable and great songwriter.

My wife and I met him after a show in Toronto, he spent a good 45 minutes with us, talking about music and songwriting.
I will never forget that night, it was just perfect.
I had a couple of his CDs in the car and he gladly signed them.
He was very polite and gracious, a great guy!
