This is the first meeting held after the vote to give the trustees equal powers with the mayor. Trustee Tim Healy conducted the meeting. As usual, as soon as the floor was opened -- actually even earlier, when Trustee Pat Dewey started badgering Mayor Jim Sullivan to show him where in the state audit it mentioned $40,000 unaccounted for -- the meeting dissolved into a circus.
The nastiness and small-mindedness of the residents (and the very vocal woman from the Town of Saratoga) is on full display. No one seems worried that $40,000 in unaccounted for (whether misappropriated or not, the village should KNOW where its money is!) as much as they are concerned with keeping the status quo, including the clerk-trustee who failed to file village audits with New York State going back several years.
And as always, the people of Victory display a lack of understanding of the meaning of "open meeting:"
1:07 "Don't you take my picture, or I'll take your camera and do something you shouldn't like."
When I informed the gentleman that his threat was on video, he denied making it! Sorry, that's how video works -- you can't pretend you didn't say what you said DIRECTLY TO THE CAMERA.
I wish I lived in the Village of Victory. Really. This saddens me, it's hard to believe most of these people are neighbors.

This meeting was awful and if Victory residents want to attend these meetings - who the hell wants to live in this village? Hope they all find out that there is money misappropriated and missing. This village board, the employees, they all deserve it. Very nasty attendees.
