A groin strain is an injury to the adductor muscles. Less severe strains pull the muscle beyond their normal excursion. More severe strains tear the muscle fibers, and can even cause a complete tear of the muscle. Most commonly, groin pulls are minor tears of some muscle fibers, but the bulk of the muscle tissue remains intact.

Groin strains are usually graded as follows:

Grade I Groin Strain: Mild discomfort, often no disability. Usually does not limit activity.
Grade II Groin Strain: Moderate discomfort, can limit ability to perform activities such as running and jumping. May have moderate swelling and bruising associated.
Grade III Groin Strain: Severe injury that can cause pain with walking. Often people complain of muscle spasm, swelling, and significant bruising.

KT tape application is an appropriate use for Grade I and II groin strains. Seek professional medical evaluation for grade III strains and use KT Tape as part of a larger treatment plan.

  • So basically use some magic tape that heals everything and tape yourself like a 4 year old would do, then do some unimportant stuff that supposedly works and there you have it! Miracle tape does it's job in only under 60 days, who need anything else when you have magic tape,

  • @aluethial Yes- with one correction- in most cases people experience results within minutes or hours:) We aren't suggesting KT Tape is a cure all- but it has been used world-wide for 40 years to treat countless soft tissue issues including overuse injuries and inflammation, muscle strains or spasms, and to provide stability and support around joints. Is KT Taping a “cure” for an injury? If you want to learn more check out our blog post this week on the subject at kttape dot com.

  • All I have is duct tape. Will that work?

girl: why are you still touching me??

  • what this tape basically does is pull the skin so that blood could flow better and more freely

  • @aluethial It works. Hard to believe but it does. It can reduce swelling significantly as well.

  • @joneberle fail.

  • Just wanted to say thanks, very helpful. I work as a Bowen therapist and Applied kinesiologist. I have had success with groin strain using these techniques. Bowen teaches taping for other conditions but not for groin strain specifically. Will give it a go, thanks.

  • @thprfssnl1 - I'm not sure what you mean. Is the audio bad, or do you not understand what he means?
