@oskay does the magnet have to be a neodymium magnet? or can a ceramic disk magnet do the trick?

Hint: Don't try it with a magnet with a lifting force of over 200 pounds.
The magnet weighs over 100g and when you get 100g spinning at 15,000 rpm=disaster.

hey can someone please answer my question willl this power a car (toy)
I'm having difficulty making the magnet/screw spin. It'll only spin half-way around and then stop. Are there any suggestions as to why this is happening and the motor isn't working?
MrTabat24 4 months ago
@MrTabat24 Motor or battery is too weak, or perhaps the magnet's coating isn't metallic.

everytime i try to do it the copper sticks to the magnet and yeh i cant do any of thoes magnet tricks idk why :(
truchowski 1 year ago
@truchowski Copper isn't magnetic. If your wire sticks to the magnet, it may not actually be copper.

what type of magnet are you using?
I want to make one for my kid and isnt working.

@antoknioD NdFeB; it needs a disk magnet magnetized through the thickness and a conductive coating.
