  • This fire was started by some dumbasses lighting a bonfire while we were having horrendous Santa Ana winds. :(

  • korvelo, there's no such thing as fireproof homes. Maybe fire resistant, but not fireproof. Unless you plan on living in a home with concrete floors, furniture ect. No curtains, no rugs, no plastic, no windows ect inside. A fire resistant home still has combustibles inside. Glass windows still break. How, exactly, are your homes you build 100% FIREPROOF?

  • And the jet wash, and air vortices that these large jets put out affect the fires, too, and these big jets can not penetrate the canopy in Timber or heavy brush. Gov. Arnold said California would buy 200 new Helicopters for its fleet. Well Bell helicopter can not build that many in one year the cost is about $3 mill EACH and then they would have to hire Helicopter pilots and helitack crews with vacancies everywhere already and the State is broke. Anything else, korvelo??

  • No amount of air support can put out established and running forest fires which are in alignment with heavy fuels, slope and weather. If u took all of the heavy airtankers and Type I helicopters in the country and used them ONLY for initial attack you would NOT significantly reduce the total amount of acres burned annually. The Supertankers have been used on brush and grass fires but with the DC-10 at $30,000 per hr with a 3 hr min or $90,000 every time it's ordered is it worth that?

  • and hills present a little problem because planes have to have a certain clearance but over 100 tons of water will cover a large area .

second wind is a problem too and that's the reason 30 or more planes are needed to overwhelm the fire to the point of creating a flash flood .fly with high wind is risky but with the wind in front of you one can even go slower and not all fires are in hills or 70 mph winds, but even at those extreme conditions planes can fly and fight fires.

    got more excuses?

  • hahaah.

r u this dumb or u'r just going for the ride?

let me explain how it's done but it will be too confusing for u !

first planes will have changes to the wings to lower the speed of flight, maybe even necessary to build an all new plane based on the c5 or even the 747.second the inside has to have two rows of tanks that will discharge fast either thru pressurization or ram. discharge has to be controlled in a way to maintain stability of flight.

quick refill gate on top .

  • Yeah korvelo, it's easy to put out ANY fire in hours, just land a huge ass 747 on the top of a hill, open the door, let the water run out and down the hill to put out these massive fires fueled by 70+ mph wind lmfao! Hell, why not ask Jack and Jill to help while they are on their way up the hill to fetch the pail of water! God knows there will be enough water coming from that big ass 747 tanker parked up there ROFLMAO! (and you think MY brain is challenged!!! LOL)

  • Land a 747 on a hilltop, open the doors and let the water run out??? LMFAO! Dayum, I thought you were a moron before, now I'm POSITIVE you're a moron. Haul your head out of your ass before you post about something you have no knowledge on.

  • more excuses wow .

    u just don't get it.

the planes just have to land on the hilltops open the doors and the water will just roll downhill, easy .

i could come up with other options but this one should work 4 u.

let me know if you have another stupid question i'm sure i can find a suitable answer for it.

and i build fireproof homes the kind u never have to evacuate NEVER!

    does that seems impossible 4 u 2?
