The hebrew letter you're referring to is called "chet" (pronounced with the same throat sound you were making). The equivalent in english is "ch". So yea! There isn't AN equivalent english letter, just an equivalent english letter combo. :) Yay for taking Hebrew class as an elective for no reasoooonnn!!
