  • 2 more nbc shows aired on wpix 11, Saved by the bell and california dreams.

I don't remember California Dreams. As far as Family Matters, it was an ABC show that was part of the TGIF lineup with Full House, Perfect Strangers (which I thiink started on Tuesdays or Wednesdays before there was a TGIF), and Step By Step. A Different World was an NBC show though (a spinoff of the Cosby Show) & that was definitely on WPIX.

  • @coolwafferman Seinfeld was syndicated on WPIX at 7:30 in the evening, prior to 2000. I remember being 10 years old & living in Montclair way back when. Now, It's back on WPIX weeknights at 11:00 & 11:30.

  • @wtcvidman My mistake. family matters was a tgif show. how could i forget? LOL. And the funny part is that you just posted up a wpix promo of california dreams. lol.

  • Go Urkel!

  • @TheMrOct It came out in 89 but it wasn't a hit series until 91. That's why it was on the 91 episode of I Love The 90's.

  • It came out in 89

Freaking VH1 said it came out in 91

    On I love the 90's

    But this show brings memories

    Goodtimes

  • It's just one of the world's greatest mysteries...how Jaleel White pulled off the 'Urkel' character is something I'll never know. Funny thing is he was only supposed to make one appearance on the show at the very beginning in '89. But the man went on to become the star for pretty much the rest of the show's run in the 90's. Another mystery is how he never got an 'Urkel' motion picture made. He was likely approached about it, but turned it down. If that's true, it's probably his biggest mistake.

  • @Hal20062b I was never a fan of Seinfeld, but I didn't know it came on WPIX. The only network I can think of it coming on in syndication is FOX, which I believe still shows it. I know "Cheers", "Fresh Prince" and "A Different World" used to come on WPIX. Those are the only NBC shows I remember off hand they showed on WPIX in the mid 1990's. Interesting though.

  • @coolwafferman They replaced it with Seinfeld, I remember watching the rerun of Seinfeld on channel 11 WB Thursday night, then turning to channel 4 NBC, and watching a brand new episode.
