Mr Godden who owned this structure at the time has unfortunately had similar fires on his other sites at Ramsgate and Folkestone, along with his buildings on Margate seafront and the Butlins complex in Cliftonville to mention just a few !!! None of these were ever put back as they were. All have been demolished for the sale of the land. He has the death of Thanet in his hands. What a cross to bear !

Thanks I love and miss Margate , I moved here in 1982. I worked for the Bembom Brothers at the Dream machines Arcade for 6 years 1989/1995 and will never forget the great memorys and all the friends made. Gods sake Thanet Council wake up and scrap the Arts then rebuild the old Pier, then remake the Classic Theme Park and change all the Arcades into Classic Arcades too, 10p/ 20p a go machines.A huge Swimming pool by the sea front. Refresh winter Gardens and create Cheap day breaks. Forever Joe.

Fire! Not a rare thing when you realise who the crook is who owns it! Having said that best thing to happen in donkeys! now lets kick out all those fat cat Londoners back to where they come from, you're not Kentish! Young people in Kent can't afford to live where they grew up!

well done with your videos - We loved Margate as kids and young adults but seeing it recently i can understand why people dont go any more . personaly i think dreamland needs to come back biger and better. It also appears from what i have read that there is coruption in the council and previous owners of dreamland, lets hope there are some honest people left in margate and perhaps us londoners will return in our masses as we used to.
good luck keep up the good work margate needs peole like you.

Well, I did say hello. You were on the phone, though.
I saw you on the street in Ramsgate! Keep doing what you're doing, man.

It certainly is true that last night conversations in Margate all had a very similar opinions.

I have removed some comments because they may have caused offence. Also this country has tough penalties for libel and defamation, so I would suggest that anyone commenting considers the implications of what they say
