Written by Elton John and Tom Robinson. The song appeared on Elton's 1980 album "21 at 33", but this is actually the original version! Sung and released as a single by Tom Robinson (famous for "Glad to be Gay") already in 1979. Robinson's version is openly gay, using only male pronouns, while Elton's version surprisingly disguises the orientation by using "she".

This recording is taken from the original vinyl single!

  • This version is better than Elton's on two counts: lyrically it makes better sense with the intended male gender, and the faster disco beat makes it catchier.

  • @InvaderOfYourHeart i know :D also two children^^ :D

  • @wickedbeartwospirirt That's funny because now Tom is married to a woman,,,same w/ Elton,,,huh?

  • How I love this! Such a great track - thanks for posting!

  • oh fuck yeh...Tom had a brave heart.

  • Tom sings about a man and Elton sings about a woman...lol...Tom was out & proud! I like Elton but Toms wins hands down.
