A disciple of Namakkal (Pallavi) Narasimha Iyengar, Turaiyur Gopu (as he was called) was a multi faceted artiste. In addition to being a vocalist, he was a Harikatha exponent, an actor, and taught music at Kalakshetra.

  • I've always wondered how so many tunes of (Viswanathan)-Ramamurhty are so melodius. Now that you've thrown light on the background training of Ramamurthy, it is obvious how.

  • !940s style of singing.He was Music director and great task master. The master musician T K Ramamurthy worked with him in early 1940s 4 susequently joined CR Subbaraman to compose tunes for Nallathambi ,Manamagal & latter on his own for films like Devadas,Pavamannipu. TKR says his tunes were good because training under TR Sharama
