Its ironic that so many people are taking lessons from instructors that never fought a real battle before. Not in their entire life !!! And they comes up with these techniques. Ed Parker is good but where was he during the fifties and sixties(Korean war and Vietnam) ? Now master sergeant Slavinski (Elvis first karate instructor) is the real deal.

people think because someones heavy that you cant be fast not true at all mr. parker could hit the average person five times before they would even know what happened to them.

Even in the seventies this looks outdated. many students started taking up kick boxing and adding some self defense to it.

@gomergilligan Nah, he looks fine in this video, considering his age and genetic disposition for being large.
-
@Deilgyre - by the looks of his fat belly - I think he ate the flux capacitor.

what a great (and sometimes bad..) thing the internet can be. to be able to watch Mr. Parker in such a candid, personal setting teaching the art he cared so much about. I think this aspect gets lost in printed history, these great masters were also just men and women, human beings, sharing their craft. and the man could move for sure..

@ 2:11 Mr Parker is manipulating the time/space continuum with his reverse bow sweep, rewinding time and re-sweeping him at least 4 times.
Awesome!

Hi thanks for making a comment.
Yes the video was taken in Jersey C.I by Niel Chadwick one of our students at the time. If my memory recalls correctly it was on one of his lasts visits to Jersey in 1989.
