  • I am very impressed with Olympia Snowe. I just wish more Senators were like her in their approach - informed, principled, responsible. Many Repubilicans seem especially recently to placing politcs, rhetoric and winning at any cost, way above having reasoned informed debate. I am a life long Democrat, but have deep respect for Senator Snowe.

  • God Bless Olympia Snowe.

Great to see a moderate, level-headed Republican.

She's from a liberal state. What do you expect. Republicans from that state tend to be more moderate than a Republican from say, Mississippi.

    Signed,

    A Liberal-Progressive

  • @djm9063 why? because she's willing to work with a president not of her party and wants to just move Forward instead of constant arguing. If Obama isn't reelected and we get a Republican president they'll do the same thing you want the Republicans to do... i like it when people can just work together to move the country forward I'm a Democrat don't get me wrong but it works a lot better when people work together. So i admire Olympia Snowe for willing to work with President Obama.

  • @xaviqaz Okay.

  • @DiverseLA Democrats from southern states or nothern "purple" districts tend to be moderate too

  • It's time to kick this WHORE out of the Republican Party.

  • This Republican fool supports S. 773 "The Cybersecurity Act" GTFO!

  • She's dating Nick Jonas now, in case anybody cares. Now that's a power couple. When I saw that on NPR, I turned to my own pretend girlfriend, Spider-Man 3 star Kirsten Dunst, and said, "Wow, Kirsten, your father who works in the medical industry must really be surprised by this turn of events." And Kirsten said, "Yeah baby you got that right. You should say more things like that." So after that we were having sex and I said, "Kirsten, say, 'I'm Olympia Snowe' while we get it on!" And she did!

  • Wow,the democrats get one vote from a so called "republican" and they become like a pack of hyena's.They are smelling fresh meat now.

  • The Iraq War was completely avoidable -- don't try to cloud it up and pretend Iraq had anything to do with 9/11. This was a war of opportunity taken on by Dick Cheney who took advantage of the post-9/11 climate in order to invade Iraq.

So, I agree that any President would've took military action in Afghanistan following 9/11. But Al Gore would've never invaded Iraq. That was purely a neoconservative agenda.

  • How could it be "moderate" if it has been consistently blue for a long time, and the entire New England region has increased in Democratic membership. Even New Hampshire, the most conservative New England state, has pushed further to the left.

Republicans have pretty much lost the northeast.
