Bad Service at Best Buy! Bad Toshiba Laptop Screen seen here:
You want a laptop? Well don't get it from Best Buy you will get tricked, when you fill out the application to get approved for a credit card there they have a place on the application on the right that was told to me and my boyfriend that it is protection.
My boyfriend told me to get it so I signed my name on it.
Then the customer service guy sent us to the sales guy (Ryan) for the laptop computers. Ryan told us the difference in the laptops, so we got a Toshiba laptop and Ryan was supposed to tell us about extra warranty, and to. Six days later the screen busted, and we have a computer carry bag for protection, to keep the computer safe. For Ryan get passed the screen he is supposed to ask or tell you and he never mentioned it he just clicked on the screen to get passed question, again not mention anything about it. We bought the laptop, using the Best Buy credit card and also paid some with cash, and we left. Not even a week later the screen busted as seen with video and pictures, we went back to get it fixed thinking we had our warranty on it. The employee told us that $84.00 had to come out of our pocket just to get an estimate on repairing it. We told them about us signing the right hand side of the application and they said it was still $84.00. Then the employee said that to get that warranty the was and extra $100.00 then he said $150.00 , after we heard that we had the manager (Russ) come over and talk to us about
our situation, Russ checked on that and told us it wasn't going to be a $100.00 or a $150.00 it was going to be $300.00 on top of what the computer price was when it was on sale. If we had known this then we wouldn't have bought the laptop because we wouldn't have enough to cover it. We were just mislead in all directions. The manager told us to come back the next day to see if our warranty covered, and he called the bank for us and the insurance company for us, and did not mention to them that his salesman did not mention extra warranty, and he told us they said that we would have to have been in a car accident or our property has been broken into. The only time that we were in a car wreck was pulling our self into Best Buy and the only time we got robbed was by Best Buy by going in and purchasing a baited sales price laptop computer that on top of the sales price we would have had to pay $499.00 and plus $300.00 on top of it to be fully cover. Best Buy sucks they are a large company and they don't have regards toward their customers, but if we can prevent one person or two million people not to fall for this trick, it would have been
worth it all.

  • Well we went back and they seen that we didn't cause the damage and replace the computer end of story!

  • Whats the problem? YOU broke the screen. You can CLEARLY see the impact point of where something hit the screen. You say its only a week old? Then send it to the manufacture to get it fixed....oh wait they dont cover damage that YOU created so why should Best Buy?....

  • Hope relook at the video and play close attention to were the damage is and you will see why they replaced the laptop.

Here comes most of the general public who thinks you can treat us in a way that makes you feel good? IF YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN DO IT BETTER, PLEASE COME ON DOWN. You have no idea how much stress is in this job for us... Give us a break, we still are human and you really have no say unless you go through what we go through for you!

  • Physical damage isn't covered unless you buy an accidental plan. There's a standard plan which offers benefits in addition to the regular MFG warranty. This includes battery replacement, protection against power surge, free diagnostic, covered shipping charges if needed to be sent to service center. and 2-3 yr rather than 1 yr MFG. Software issues are never covered. I hope this helps some people. Sadly there are misunderstandings from time to time which are the same for any retail store.

  • i hate bestbuy. all i buy r dvds, and theirs r over priced and they dont carry many dvds anymore that i want. which r popular shows. but 2 years ago i bought a camera, in a year it broke. they refund my money in a gift card. didnt want a damn gift card. so then i bought a new camera well 5 months later that broke. so they r like we cant refund ur money and u have to call the camera company. so the company said take it to geeksquad for them to fix. well they couldnt and gave me a gift card. grrr

  • You were cheap and did not buy geek squad black tie protection, its that simple, the manufacturer will never cover that screen unless u pay mad money for it. more money than the protection plan. U also say they just replaced it? YEAH BULL SHIT i worked at best buy for a long time, we would never replace a computer like that if there was no warrenty bought.
