Even though I am an atheist, I still "liked" this video because I agree with your theme of "know aht you are talking about" Even though you display the typical xtian philosophical gymnastics to bolster your bias, it is apparent that you really believe what you are saying. One piece of advice ( if I may)....don't encourage people to read the bible unless you ant WAY more atheists. Peace to you brother.

The New Testament refers on several occassions to James, the brother of Jesus. And yet Roman Catholics feel the need to cling to the idea of Mary's perpetual virginity. Seems to me there's a very conflicted psychology at play here. They are trying to idealize and personify both the sanctity of motherhood and the purity of virginity in the one character. Kinda ridiculous when you think about it.

Most cases are anthropomorphisms. Take Genesis 8:21: "the Lord smelled a sweet savour". Noah's sacrifice was acceptable to God. It doesn't literally mean that it "smelled good" to God.
The church's purpose is NOT to "guide" us in reading the scriptures. Look at Acts 17:11. The Bereans examined the Scripture for themselves to ensure what Paul said was true. They did NOT depend on someone else to interpret the Bible for them and it is foolish to proceed in such a manner. Also look at 2Tim2:15.

The bible does not contradict itself, because the bible is the Word of God and God never contradict itself. it is the wrong interpretations that contradict themselves. To be clear on this, only the catholic church interprets the bible correctly.

Minx: And why do you think, does he make it so hard to find the right meaning, the right interpretation of the bible ?
Is that what a loving father does ? Promising heaven, but give directions which can be interpreted in a 1000 different ways ?

He established a church to guide us. the bible was never meant to be interpreted by everyone. that would be like everyone interpreting the constitution as they see fit and acting on that interpretation. When the constitution itself says there is one body who has the right to interpret it.

A lot of the contradictions on that website, I noticed, could only be construed as contradictions if one mistakenly gives God human charecteristics and limits God to only human capabilities.
This I believe is a tendency that some people who are proud exhibit. They (most likely unconsciously) think so much of themselves, they have a hard time comprehending that God has more abilities then we. Which explains why many who think this way find it so hard to believe in Him at all.

God does have "Limitations". He can't make a round square, or dry rain, etc.
Anyone who looks at that website and says it valid is consciously looking to unbelieve. Usually its the fault of overzealous christians not God.
I have exposed many of the gross errors on that website. But if someone insists on believing it I can't help that.
