Top Speed 1980 Kawasaki KZ550

There's no sound because I wanted to use a cheap camera with no mic to try this for the first time. I went out in the country to see how fast I could get it. Since the needle pegs out at 85 I don't know how fast i was going, but let up cause the bike started to wobble too much.

wow. is that bike stock? I have a 1982 KZ 550, and its gutless as all hell. what kind of carbs are on that too? are they Mikuni CV's or the TC Piston slides?

@oldtubbydogs well.... it dosn't start at all haha. the engine was making noise so it has sadly been sitting outside under a tarp for about 2 years now. from what i remember about it... it usually started right up but i couldn't accelerate until it warmed up a bit.

@nikkaw88 That klight is also an indicator lamp. It will stay on to let you know there is an engine electrical malfunction somewhere. Check the book.

I used my stop watch, about 6.10 seconds 0-60. A good stocker should probably run 112-115 mph.

I had a z 550 (kz) 1981 got it new it was timed at 125mph with my 225 lb ass on it. Would hide the speedo in 3rd gear. I think it was one of my fastest small bore bikes.
