According to me that song appears to be amazingly sad, because of the fact that it corresponds to that American Pie Scene where they all figured out that high school is over, and that they will all take different ways; so it reminds me when I finished high school and had to say goodbye to all the peoples I knew (except for my friends).

not only does this remind me of american pie, but the 90s in general. i was 18 when american pie came out. i miss the 90s so much :'(
