well the point is that if you wait for cars to stop you'll never cross. However you have to show that you need to cross, slowly go in the street and wait to see if cars slow down...it's not easy at the beginning, but it's very easy later to get used to

LOL I can't forget when I went to Boston and american drivers got mad when I crossed the streets also if it was red for pedestrians... but we're just used to do it: here in Italy if the traffic lights are green, it doesn't mean you will be the first to pass ;) Lots of greetings!

Oh my God, it's the most horrific thing that I have ever seen in my life. So as a pedestrian, there's no way you will ever cross the street if you ever wait for the cars to pass. lol

yes, the most time because they "jump" into the streets from everywhere and they don't look in both directions :/

si è tutto vero...e anche se fosse? che problema c'è? e non solo
non è che a new york il traffico sia come dite lì, lighter di qui eh perchè tutte le volte che ci sono stato non ho mai visto una bella strada a manhattan scorrere tranquillamente

Have you ever driven in Boston, that is the worst traffic I have ever experienced! Ofcource, driving around there in a rental minivan with Florida plates did not endear me with the locals. I spent a week in Rome in the summer of 2005 and at first thought traffic was crazy but got used to it. Italians are fantastic drivers - did not see a single accident.

I have not seen Boston, but dude, Rome still takes the cake. At least Boston has lines on the road at least discerning some kind of lane. In Rome, it's a free for all bonanza of race car drivers. LOL
