  • Oh dear god how I wish there was a complete filmed version of Callas in this role! I've often wondered if someone could create a "movie" of Medea with Callas, a kind of realistic animation, starting with what films and stills exist, using the best recorded sound versions, and creating a complete Callas performance. Surely there is someone out there who, with computer assisted technology, could make this a truly believable & memorable experience.

  • omg from minute 1:05 to 1:13 she turn into a monster what and actress brava divina

  • "Too speedy"?! Firstly, the film footage shows the exposure time was too slow creating the jerky, quickened movements of old film. Secondly, this take is from one of the most impassioned moments of the performance. She is a great actress, not afraid of gesture, nor suffering from "naturalism". She was neither too big, nor small, only and always TRUE in her acting choices.
