I did this video for the fact I have some questions that I want answered by stutters, friends of stutters, and parents of stutters.

1. The Speech Easy Device -opinions, if you used it

2. moderating comments

3. NSA conference 2009

4. a general question about stuttering

questions can be sent to my e-mail danistuttermom@yahoo.com, or a message. I will read answers on a video, but if you don't want me to answer videos on "air", please let me know before hand

  • Hi

i tried the speecheasy device back in 2003 nad i returned it for a refund after 2 weeks. i did not like it because

1- The noise you hear in the background is just too much and i was thinking im gonna lose my hearing one day

2- The effect seems to wear off with time and once you get used to the auditory feedback

i am a person who stutter and my stutter is mild to moderate(sometimes sever).

  • number 2 I know was going to happen. I just wanted to know everyone's opinion. I wasn't going to get it. I'm more afraid of spending the money, then it not working. Then my speech will be shot to hell. excuse my french btw.

  • I got mine in 2006. While the effectiveness wasn't quite as great as I wanted, it still was worth the 5000 dollars that was paid for the improvement i had. In really noisy situations like at parties it's very difficult to hear with it in. I'd say what you need to do is try it first before deciding. I'm going to bet you will find some improvement though.

  • erm so speech easy does have side effects!

    hearing loss ??

and all speach easy devices has a certain amount of time before it wears off correct ? :S

  • i got the speecheasy de vice back in 2003 but i have returned it for a refund after 2 weeks of use for the following reasons

1- The effect of the device wears off with time

2- huge amount of noise in the ear which would lead for hearing loss in the long term

  • Hi, I'm 28 from Toronto, Canada. I'm a realtor and work for RE/MAX. Since I started working, my speech has gotten a lot better however there are still those situations where it gets out of hand such as speaking on the phone is still very hard and having long conversations as well. I'm going for a consultation on Sept 8,2008 for the Speecheasy Device which last about 2.5 hrs. I will keep you posted on how it goes for me. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

  • Hi, I just watched your video and I am a stutterer. I am 35 and I must say that people don't look at us like we are normal because of our disability. I am married, am working on my Masters degree and am a Paralegal. Feel free to contact me if you wish and we can talk. I go tomorrow for my speech pathology for the Speech Easy. I would love to keep you up on my progression with the device.
