  • Dude, I am a pilot myself and don't you tell me nonsense. There are training rides in any kind of planes... not everything is done in simulators.

  • Yeah I bet it was a short maintenance hop and he's saving a a gear cycle. Normally it's gear up when you have a positive rate on VSI, flaps up at 100kts, climb at 120 kts. That will get you to an altitude that you can possibly turn back to the airport from in the shortest time, should the engine fail. That altitude will be different from pilot to pilot depending on reaction time and technique. I have done it in the sim from 600 to a 1000 ft VFR and IFR. Hope I don't have to do it for real...

  • this plane is a dog.....

  • Landing gear?????

  • @berndl i know a large regional airline that does LOFT training / check ride in the simulator for the Embraer... first time a new hire touches the real airplane is on day one of their IOE with passengers aboard... not kidding.

  • landind gear?

  • yeah with no options.

  • I did my type rating in the real thing. Have never seen a PC 12 simulator.

  • Normally gear goes in earlier and always before a turn. I think it was a planned go around for training purposes.
