@meda789 because if he didnt they could lose the crab pots which are like $2500.00 dollars each or the pots could slide around on the deck and hurt crew members or cause damage to the boat its self.

@afccapt07 why is he out there chaining pots if its a risk or is it normal to hang off the side of a boat?

@bshaun2 ok but why didnt his own boat from him one of those circle floaty things that are attached to a roap? and if time bandit wasnt there, his own boat wouldnt have thrown something in to save him? it just doesnt make sense.
