In 1985 Donny Gay was the #1 bullrider in the country. At the Elks Rodeo in, Santa Maria,CA Donny makes this classic ride. He takes a horn in the face but "cowboys up" and shows what it takes to be a professional rodeo Cowboy. At the end of this clip you can see Bobby Delvecchio packing up his gear while Donny holds an old dirty rag to his face. Bobby had made a classic ride too but lost the go-a-round to Donny. In spite of his great ride Bobby had to cowboy up and call it a day. Within the hour both cowboys were heading on down the road where they would compete again at the next rodeo. Such is the life of a rodeo cowboy. (filmed by Maestro Gaxiola in 1985)

Sin duda alguna el maestro de maestros en la monta de toros Donny Gay con 8 titulos mundiales. Donny fue y sigue siendo inspiración para muchas generaciones de jinetes en la monta de toro como tambien lo fue el desaparecido Freckles Brown. Excelente video y un viaje al rodeo del pasado. I'm an Okie from Clem McSpadden Country He is part of the family, Dated Bill Lowes daughter, Drank with Donnie in OKC several rodeo's he never met a person he didn't like (sort of like Will Rogers), and Casey Tibbs was a friend of mine in California where I played music and partied for a year. That and $a buck and a half will buy you a cup of coffee ask T-Woolman and of course Jackie. Donnie is The Best Ever as far as I'm concerned personally and professionally
