My Panasonic Plasma is Super fluent,

Why the fucking FUCK then have we got to have a 'fault' with EITHER of them, so that one has a discrepancy or shortfall of black or white quality on one or the other ?. Is this to rape us AGAIN in future and say 'this has the ultimate performance for BOTH whites and blacks' etc
-
@LatinoSpink Agreed, I just bought a Panasonic plasma tv and it's amazing! I returned 2 different TVs to Best Buy, one was an LED and the other an LCD because these TVs suck so bad with fast motion! NOTHING does fast motion better than a plasma TV and the picture is so vibrant! Get a plasma, don't waste your time or money on an LED or LCD no matter how much they try and push them on you.

@kenllll actually plasma TV are rated at their maximum power consumption which would be when the screen is all white, a plasma TV under normal everyday use only uses a 3rd to 2/3rd of its raited max power as its never all white, an LCD uses its raited power all the time as the backlight is always on, the actual LCD panel only draws maybe 2 - 300ma where as the backlight draws anyting from 2 - 5 AMPS constant so there is very little differance in power consumption if TVs are of same screen size.
-
One drawback with Plasma is the "dithering" issue where in dark areas like blues or greys the pixels / sub pixels "dance" / giggle about, and the main drawback on LCD is the refresh rate which compaired to plasma is pretty low and results in blocky picture on scenes that have a lot of moving picture over most if not all the sceen such as explosions.

Plasma is like the old CRT technology blacks are darker / contrast ratio better due to simply not illuminating the phosphor same as CRT, LCD ALLWAS has a back light and this light bleeds though the LCD even when the red, green & blue sub pixels are off (i.e black) so blacks on LCD are more grey, LED backlight is better as some now allow areas of the backlight to be turned off / dulled, but true LED is the way to go an LED for each colour and no backlight, millions of tiny LEDs form the screen.

Plasma TV looks crystal bright. LCD out.

@LatinoSpink lcd = energy efficient, hate the glossy screen on any t.v , i dont think plasma comes with 120hz / or does it not sure?.. easier wall mount
-
PLASMA CAN BE SEEN FROM THE SIDES BUT LCD AND LED CAN NOT OR THE CONTRAST IS BAD.

i got a 50 inc LG LCD TV and its awesome merry chrismas everyone
All the experts agree that Plasma is better. Mr. Real HDTVGuru should change his name because it is making him look very uneducated.
Plasma is not obsolete and has always been better than LCD. I personally don't care how heavy they are or how much heat they give off. This is like saying that a 4 cylinder car is better than a V6 when it comes to performance because it uses less fuel. For those who can, please buy a plasma and preferably a Panasonic.
