This needs a lot of work. Get some formal training before taking on a classic such as this. Play it slow and play it in proper position. Instead of playing the G major version try the D major version. It is more beginner orientated and very expressive in that key which means that there is more room to play around on bringing out various colours and articulations.

I'm teaching myself the exact version, for guitar. You should slow down and take your time to perfect that speed.
